Congratulations to Dr. Mary Gospodarowicz!

The Medical Director of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Dr. Mary Gospodarowicz, was honoured by the University of Toronto (U of T) late last week when she was granted the University’s most distinguished rank, University Professor, in her field of radiation oncology. On top of teaching at U of T, Dr. Gospodarowicz is also the Regional Vice President of Cancer Care Ontario.
Her world-class research has made her well-known and admired within the cancer research community. Dr. Gospodarowicz is the author of over 350 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and the winner of numerous awards. Her research focuses on clinical trials that evaluate radiation therapy in lymphomas and GU cancers, image-guided precision radiotherapy, and cancer survivorship.
In the past, Dr. Gospodarowicz was also the first Canadian and first woman to head the Union for International Cancer Control, a global organization consisting of over 1,000 organizations in more than 160 countries dedicated to uniting the global cancer community.
