11/09/2018
The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation announced today that Meaghan Stovel McKnight has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, a new position within the Foundation.

Meaghan brings 18 years of achievements from the private and not-for-profit sectors, including experience in strategy formulation, operational excellence, technology implementation and P&L management. She is passionate about delivering impact in large, mission-driven fundraising organizations that enable exceptional research and healthcare.

“Meaghan is a seasoned and trusted leader. She is passionate about building and leading an inspired and engaged team culture at the Foundation and working closely with our trusted partners,” says Michael Burns, President & CEO, The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. “She is uniquely qualified to drive strategic prioritization at The Princess Margaret with a focus on operational excellence."

Most recently, Meaghan held the role of SVP & Chief Operating Officer with Trillium Health Partners Foundation (THPF). In her five-plus years at THPF she earned a reputation for excellence as a leader across almost every facet of the organization including strategy development and implementation, people leadership and culture, revenue generation through major and annual giving, donor relations and governance, and operations management including finance and IT.

Meaghan brings a willingness to learn and a strong commitment to fundraising, and has an ability to see opportunities where others might not. She is recognized for being “as much inspired as she is inspirational.” In her current role, Meaghan holds leadership accountability for strategy, hospital relations, donor relations, innovation, marketing, annual giving, events, and creative & editorial services.

“I am thrilled to join a world-class organization such as The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation,” says Meaghan Stovel McKnight. “The Foundation has ambitious goals and I look forward to working with the team to help deliver on our vision to Conquer Cancer In Our Lifetime.”

Meaghan earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University and holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University. She began her career as an Analyst at McKinsey & Company (Boston), and then spent more than eight years as a Director in the Systems & Technology division of Bell Canada. Inspired by her volunteer efforts as a Board Member at the legacy Credit Valley Hospital Foundation, Meaghan made a pivot and joined that organization as VP & Chief Operating Officer in 2012 before their merger with the Trillium Health Centre Foundation in 2013. She subsequently led the operational integration of those two Foundations to form Trillium Health Partners Foundation.

In 2018, Meaghan was recognized as one of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy’s Top 40 Under 40 (North American in scope).
