The Max Tanenbaum Healing Garden was established by the Tauba and Solomon Spiro Family Foundation in honour of Tauba’s father, Max Tanenbaum, a noted businessman and philanthropist who loved nature and the outdoors. Created as a year-round oasis for patients and visitors at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, the Max Tanenbaum Healing Garden is a creative way to honour those who have been affected by cancer.

Designed by Janet Rosenberg and Studio, this permanent art installation is located on the 14th floor of the Cancer Centre.

The glass colours span the full spectrum of the rainbow – red, pink, orange, yellow, blue, and purple – with some blooms displaying a blend of multiple colours and tones.

How to Dedicate a Flower

With a gift of $1,000, you can dedicate a flower in the Max Tanenbaum Healing Garden to a loved one in honour of their individual journey. With your donation, you’ll receive a printed dedication package along with a digital dedication that will be uploaded to the Healing Garden donor wall that’s located near the Garden on the 14th floor of the Cancer Centre.

Every flower dedicated helps us continue to make advancements in early detection, innovative treatments and comprehensive care at The Princess Margaret. Together, we can Carry The Fire for a world free from the fear of cancer.

Inspired by the structure and symbolism of French Baroque gardens, vibrant beds of hand-blown glass flowers — spanning every colour of the rainbow — are on display year-round at the Cancer Centre, offering visitors a beautiful space for peace and reflection.

It’s a reminder of the promise of growth, of faith and of life.
