“It is very tough hearing the word ‘cancer’. It can be, and still is a terrifying diagnosis.” — Chris Taylor

Chris was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and feared the worst.

When his health began to decline due to the side effects of his chemotherapy treatments, Chris was referred to Dr. Messner and the team at The Princess Margaret.

From their first meeting, Chris was informed that he needed a stem cell transplant in order to save his life. The odds of survival were 50/50, but only if they could find a matching stem cell donor first.

This was no easy task.

Thankfully, Chris’s doctors at The Princess Margaret did find an almost perfect match, Chris’s 19-year-old son, Patrick.
