Your Support Today Helps Give Cancer Patients More Tomorrows
I have hope for a cancer free future, thanks to people like you who support The Princess Margaret.— Andrew
After all, Andrew was healthy, strong and only 36 years old. But when a softball-sized tumour on his kidney was found, his life changed completely.
Thankfully, a successful surgery to remove his left kidney was enough to declare Andrew cancer-free. But the likelihood that his cancer would reoccur in the next five years was high. With the help of caring supporters like you, he was able to join a clinical trial, testing a drug that might prevent his kidney cancer from coming back.
Clinical trials like these are available at The Princess Margaret because caring people like you make them possible. Right now, there are thousands of patients enrolled in clinical trials for all types of cancer. Every one of them is counting on your support for this kind of research to continue.
Please join our team of supporters – and help countless patients like Andrew in their fight against cancer – by making a special gift to The Princess Margaret today.
25 years later, I’m living proof that Conquering Cancer is possible!– Heather
A few years into her cancer journey, two major events changed the course of her life. First, Heather met her now husband, Jeff, and then, her medical care was transferred to The Princess Margaret, a world-renowned centre solely dedicated to fighting cancer. Both Jeff and the incredible doctors and staff at The Princess Margaret supported Heather throughout all the highs and lows.
Thanks to advancements in research and treatment at The Princess Margaret, Heather’s health improved. She and Jeff welcomed their son, Nate, in 2006.
Over the 17-years of Nate’s life, Heather Conquered Cancer twice.
One of the first and biggest challenges was finding Heather a match for a bone marrow transplant — the long-term treatment for leukemia. Luckily, The Princess Margaret found Heather a donor and performed the transplant, which left Heather with no evidence of the disease.
Sadly, 10 years later, Heather received a second diagnosis: esophageal cancer. In just over a year and a half, the doctors and staff supported Heather and her family again and saved her life.
Today, Heather is cancer-free, and she is so thankful to be celebrating her son Nate’s high school graduation this spring. Her journey illustrates how your support helps The Princess Margaret fund breakthrough research, innovative treatments, and world-class cancer care. Every donation helps give patients more tomorrows.
