Meet Kendra
My name is Kendra, I’m an artist, ceramicist, and proud supporter of The Princess Margaret. My story with cancer begins with my grandfather, who was diagnosed with colon cancer just before I was born. His recovery gave our family 20 more years of laughter, lessons, and love. I feel so grateful to The Princess Margaret, for allowing him to be in my life, because he shaped me into who I am.
He was a craftsman, a gardener, and the person who first placed clay in my hands. Together, we would sculpt small imaginary figures from the earth, moments that inspired my lifelong fascination with memory, transformation, and storytelling through art.
For the 25th Anniversary of the Doves of Hope, I created a ceramic vessel representing the strength of communities impacted by cancer. Every coil binds to the next, each one carrying a story, just as the Doves of Hope unite countless voices into one collective expression of resilience.
This piece is my way of honouring the connections that sustain us, the stories that shape us, and the hope that keeps us moving forward. Every Dove tells a story, and mine is about remembrance, community, and the beauty that emerges from care.
When you dedicate a Dove, you help fund world-leading cancer research and send strength to patients and families across Canada.
