Paul Alofs is President & CEO of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, and has raised over $1.2 billion in net fundraising revenue for cancer research and clinical care at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Paul’s work experience includes General Manager of the 500 North American Disney stores, President of BMG Music Canada, and President of HMV Music Stores Canada. He is also the author of The Globe and Mail bestselling title, Passion Capital: The World’s Most Valuable Asset.

Christine Lasky
Chief Brand Officer & Vice President Strategic Initiatives

Christine Lasky is the Chief Brand Officer and Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. She leads all branding, communications, website, and public relations activities,  as well as Princess Margaret Lotteries, Golf to Conquer Cancer  and new initiatives. Christine has always been at the forefront of social media – in fact, she spearheaded Canada’s first Twitter party and first Periscope broadcast for the social enterprise sector.

Christine oversees $26 million in net fundraising revenue annually. She has been involved in many of the Foundation’s leading brands, including the Ride to Conquer Cancer, Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer and OneWalk to Conquer Cancer. She has worked with many organizations who have sponsored or been active in The Princess Margaret’s branded events and engaged with the for-profit sector on several cause-related marketing initiatives. Christine spent 25 years in business prior to joining the Princess Margaret with notable organizations such as Procter & Gamble, Nabisco, Weston’s and Sun Life Financial.

Steve Merker
Vice President of Business Development

Steve Merker is the Vice President of Business Development for The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. His main responsibilities include managing and overseeing The Ride to Conquer Cancer and Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer. Since 2007, “The RIDE” has emerged as the largest cycling fundraiser in Canada…bringing in over $119 million for cancer research at The Princess Margaret. Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer is the world’s largest Road Hockey fundraiser and the most rewarding hockey experience in the nation! He is still living the dream by participating in all these athletic fundraisers for The Princess Margaret. Following his induction into the McMaster Hall of Fame after being awarded the Ivor Wynne Trophy for Male Athlete of the Year at McMaster in 1990, for Steve, every day is game day.

Nick Taylor
Nick Taylor, Senior Director, New Revenue and Chief Golf Officer, Golf to Conquer Cancer

Nick joined the foundation in 2013. He's responsible for the annual Golf to Conquer Cancer event. He also plays a supporting role on the Princess Margaret Lottery Program.

Cindy Goelman
Associate Vice President, Special Events

Cindy Berk Goelman is the  Associate Vice President, Special Events for The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. She joined the Foundation in 2009 and has spent her career working in not for profit event fundraising. She is looking forward to her first experience with “blogging” and hopes to have a lively conversation about the 150 third party events that take place to benefit The Princess Margaret.

Kelly Stevenson
Communications Specialist, Major Gifts

Kelly Stevenson is Communications Specialist for the Major Gifts Department at The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. Kelly provides communications support in the area of proposal and stewardship report development and other fundraising information pieces. Kelly has spent her career working for a diversity of not-for-profits both in Canada and internationally. A favourite area within Kelly’s job is learning about personalized, ground-breaking work being achieved at The Princess Margaret. Kelly is looking forward to participating in her first Ride to Conquer Cancer in June 2013!

Karina Wong
Senior Coordinator, Annual Giving

Karina Wong works in the Direct Response team at The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. One of her roles is to share inspirational patient stories, donor news, and research breakthroughs from the frontlines through direct mail. She really enjoys interacting with donors and patients on a personal level and hearing their stories. She’s amazed by the talents and kindness she sees in her colleagues and staff at The Princess Margaret. She says, “It is definitely amazing to be part of The Princess Margaret team to Conquer Cancer In Our Lifetime!”
