Like David Lahey, many Inner Circle supporters are personally affected by cancer in some way. David received the biggest shock of his life when he was diagnosed with Stage 4 throat cancer in spring 2019. But the next biggest shock was learning that after several months of radiation and chemotherapy, the tumour in his throat had grown 3x its original size. He was shaken. After losing close to 30 pounds and his ability to speak, he was administered to palliative care.
Thankfully, Dr. Lillian Siu and the team at The Princess Margaret refused to give up. In December 2020, she put David on an immunotherapy drug which used his own immune system to attack and kill his tumour. The treatment worked and by March his tumour had decreased 95% in size.
David says he owes his entire recovery to The Princess Margaret team, and to Dr. Siu who he says found the unique solution that gave him his life back.
