The Till & McCulloch Society

Dr. James Till (centre) with senior staff from Princess Margaret Cancer Centre at the  inauguration of the Till & McCulloch Society

At The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, we are dedicated to finding meaningful ways to inform and express gratitude to our donor community. With that in mind, we recently established a new, unique society to honour visionary donors. The Till & McCulloch Society acknowledges individuals, foundations, corporations and unions who have cumulatively donated $1 million or more in support of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. This special society is named after Princess Margaret researchers, Drs. James Till and Ernest McCulloch, who revolutionized cancer medicine by proving the existence of stem cells in 1961. Like Till & McCulloch, our donors play an integral role in transforming cancer research and patient care at The Princess Margaret.

Members of the Till & McCulloch Society have the opportunity to attend exclusive events with cancer centre leadership and they are the first to receive important updates and information.

2017 saw the introduction of a new lunch-and-learn series entitled Lunch with Leaders. In this program, members are given the opportunity to meet the Department Heads at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and learn about the latest advancements in their programs.

The inaugural speaker was Dr. Gary Rodin, Head, Department of Supportive Care. Dr. Rodin explained how The Princess Margaret delivers the highest standard of supportive care to patients and families throughout their cancer journey.

On September 14, members enjoyed a private cocktail reception featuring a special preview of our Transformation Campaign. Cancer centre leaders, Campaign Co-Chairs and lead architect of the project, Mr. Siamak Hariri, brought to life the ambitious project which strengthens The Princess Margaret’s commitment to putting patients first.
