The Bravery Bell – A symbol of victory for cancer patients

Donna McCullagh is a former nurse manager of the chemotherapy unit at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.  She retired in 2002, just after she and her team created a tradition that has been embraced and appreciated by cancer patients receiving chemotherapy.

The ringing of the bravery bell is something that patients do enthusiastically at the end of their chemo treatment.

Donna, now being treated for colon cancer, rang the bell herself after she finished her last chemo treatment on August 5, 2015.
