Volunteer Week - Thank you volunteers!

Volunteers are critical to the work that happens at The Princess Margaret on a daily basis – who are they? The 450 volunteers who generously give over 40,000 hours every year to assist patients and staff at The Princess Margaret.

What do volunteers at The Princess Margaret do?  
Each volunteer that you encounter at The Princess Margaret has passed through an extensive process of reference checks, orientation and training. Volunteers range anywhere from students, foreign trained professionals, homemakers, working professionals, individuals in career transition and retirees. Meet Sharon Mitchell- Joe's Team Triathlon & Duathlon Volunteer
When Sharon Mitchell met Joe Finley, he was recovering from aggressive cancer treatment and although physically frail, Sharon was struck by his tenacity, drive and natural ability to inspire. “I wanted to be involved in Joe’s grassroots vision to create a special event,” says Sharon. Brian Rogers
Thank you Brian Rogers!

Brian has made volunteering an important part of his retirement. He has helped out in our Foundation office twice a week for five years now – welcoming new supporters to our family of donors and thanking donors for their continuing support. He plays a key role in ensuring that the contact information we have for our donors is accurate and up to date. The community giving team is very grateful for the quiet and efficient way he assists with the priority of the day ( and love his regular travel updates and photos!) Read more...
