Ride Team Arch Attack

This year, thanks to the generosity of the Honorary Chair for the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer, many of the ride teams are in heavy ‘recruit mode’ as they vie for the prize money offered by Tim Hockey, CEO of TD Canada Trust.

Arch Attack is a team of riders—most of them from the architectural firm Turner Fleischer Architects—that has participated in every annual Ride since the event was launched in 2007.  In 2014, they had 19 riders, and for 2015, they already have 45 riders registered for their team!

One of the core riders on their team, Claudio Rabaglino, wasn’t able to ride last year, as he was receiving cancer treatment.  Fortunately, he has finished his treatment and is anxious to climb back on his bike and ride again in the 2015 event.  Many of the new members of the team are riding in support of Claudio and in gratitude for the life-saving treatment he received.

Because of their commitment to the Ride, the members of team Arch Attack know the importance of fundraising throughout the year, and not just the month before the Ride.  They host a series of themed BBQ’s every Friday from spring to fall for the company employees and their corporate neighbours.  They also sign up team sponsors and promote their support on their team jerseys and through their other fundraising events.

To add spice to this year’s Team Up Challenge, Tim Hockey personally donated $50,000—to be directed to the first ten teams to double their size.  Stay tuned to hear about the other challenge winners.
