Team CIBC is banking on cancer research

CIBC is the next Ride team to ‘double up’ and claim $5,000 in fundraising dollars through the Tim Hockey Challenge.  As this year’s Honorary Chair for the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer, Tim put out a challenge to encourage Ride teams to recruit new members and build a bigger team for the 2015 Ride.  He offered $50,000 of his personal funds for this challenge which will be shared by the first ten teams to double their number of riders.

Cancer is a cause that is very important to CIBC because it affects so many Canadians including their colleagues, clients and loved ones. They are committed to working with organizations like the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre that support research and develop improved therapies for cancer patients, as well as run programs focused on prevention, early detection, treatment and ultimately finding a cure.

Team CIBC has participated in the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer for the past three years.  In 2014, they had a team of 20 riders, and this year there will be over 40 riders sporting CIBC Ride jerseys!  CIBC’s support for the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre runs deep as they have also been a long-time sponsor of the Weekend to End Women’s Cancers, and are a founding partner of the new OneWalk to Conquer Cancer.

In 2015, Team CIBC plans to hold a number of team fundraising activities, but also encourages their team members to share their personal story or describe how this cause has personally affected their lives as they reach out to their friends and families for support.  They look forward to joining thousands of other riders on June 13th and 14th as we move closer to Conquering Cancer in Our Lifetime.

Congratulations Team CIBC!
