Ophthalmic Imager, wins 8 awards at the recent American Academy of Ophthalmology annual meeting

Allan ConnorThe American Academy of Ophthalmology held its annual meeting in Chicago this year. At this meeting the Ophthalmic Photographers’ Society displays its Scientific Exhibit which consists of the winning ophthalmic images of 2012 from international submissions. This year there were over 500 entries of various ophthalmic imaging modalities and categories. They include Surgical, Retinal, Slit Lamp, Stereoscopic and several diagnostic imaging techniques such as Fluorescein Angiography, Ultrasound and Optical Coherence Tomography.

Allan Connor, Manager of PhotoGraphics and Ophthalmic Imager, Ocular Oncology at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre has won eight awards. He garnered four 1st Place Awards, a 2nd, a 3rd and Best of Show, Print Division. In addition he was also presented with the prestigious Csaba L. Martonyi Award for Best Image of the Scientific Exhibit in all categories for his Slit Lamp image of “Cytarabine Toxicity of the Cornea”.
