The individual fighters may have taken home victories but the 2018 Fight to End Cancer was the real winner, with more than $350,000 raised for The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

It brings the total funds raised for cancer research to more than $1,000,000 since the event was founded in 2012 by Jennifer Huggins.

The 7th annual charity gala brought together 10 men and women, with no previous boxing experience, who trained for the past six months to get ready for the main event. The fighters included local business leaders and influencers.
The black-tie gala on June 2 at Toronto’s historic Old Mill Inn concluded months of training with the fighters competing in a series of amateur Olympic-style boxing bouts.
“The energy and emotion on Saturday night was indescribable. Each fighter, sponsor, the performers, everyone left their hearts in the ring. This year was truly incredible, built on the foundations that began in 2012,” said Huggins.
Donations for the fighters are still being accepted until the end of June.

Next year’s Fight to End Cancer will take place Saturday, June 1, 2019.
