The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation Launches 2nd Annual BREASTOBER Campaign

Breastober.pngThe Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation announces the 2nd annual BREASTOBER, a month long initiative to raise awareness and funds for the Breast Cancer Program at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

Breast cancer affects women and men – but it also affects our families, our friends and our colleagues. Throughout the month of October, The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation will be hosting a series of BREASTOBER initiatives including “Send a Kiss to Conquer Cancer”, a new social media campaign that encourages people online to #KISSITFORWARD by sending a kiss to a loved one and challenging others to do the same.

This year will also feature the Pink Epaulette Program. Toronto Firefighters, Toronto Police Services and other organizations will sell and wear pink epaulettes throughout the month of October.

In addition to these exciting initiatives, Toronto Fire Services will be driving a pink fire truck around the GTA to promote BREASTOBER.

“Nearly I in 2 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime” says Paul Alofs, Paul Alofs, President and CEO of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. “1 in 9 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. This initiative will help fund ground breaking research and clinical innovations happening at
The Princess Margaret.”

More and more, through early detection and intervention, women and men with breast cancer are living longer and healthier lives after diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Your support, in any way you feel comfortable getting involved, is meaningful and making a difference.

The month of October is filled with parties, shopping events and other initiatives to raise funds for the Breast Cancer program at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. For more information on BREASTOBER events including how to support the program, please visit and follow our socialnetworks:
