Congrats to Dr. Rama Khokha!

Starting this month, Khokha becomes the Interim Research Director at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

Khokha is a senior scientist at the cancer centre. She's also a Professor and was the Vice-Chair in the Department of Biophysics at the University of Toronto.

Khokha takes over the director position from Dr. Brad Wouters, who is now the Executive Vice-President of Science and Research at University Health Network (UHN).

Wouters praised Khokha’s talents as both a scientist and leader, when announcing her appointment to colleagues.

"She is a passionate and dedicated scientist, and has demonstrated a consistent effort to support young researchers and research excellence at Princess Margaret," Wouters told staff in an email. "She is also a fantastic scientist and continues to publish prolifically in high impact journals despite these major leadership roles."

He also thanked her for taking on this key role.

"On behalf of all of Princess Margaret I want to welcome Rama into this new position and thank her for her continued contributions to our collective success," Wouters said.
