In Gear for the 2017 Ride to Conquer Cancer

It’s Personal! The Epic 10th year of the Ride to Conquer Cancer is this weekend. Everyone who does the ride rides for someone. I ride every year in honor and memory of my Mom, Pat Alofs. My wife Sheila rides for her Dad, Jim Smith. We all ride for someone and this is what unites us.

The Ride has raised over $155 million in Ontario in the first 9 years.  We are hoping for a new record this year! The Ride is personal to everyone who rides or volunteers as we ride for survivors and for those passed. This year, the Ride will provide transformational funding for immunotherapy, precision image guided radiation, surgical innovation and supportive care at one of the world’s top 5 cancer research centres.

I ride for all cancer patients but my ride is always personal….it’s always one of the best weekends of the year. Transformational. Personal. Incredible. That’s the Ride to Conquer Cancer.
