Congratulations to Maria Bartolotta of Woodbridge winner of 2008 Home Lottery Early Bird Cottage

Maria Bartolotta winner of 2008 Home Lottery Early Bird Cottage
On April 30, 2008, Maria Bartolotta of Woodbridge, ON was on her way to work when she was notified that she was the newest resident of Balsam Lake in the Kawarthas, north of Toronto. Maria’s ticket was drawn as the winner of the World’s Greatest Early Bird Cottage benefiting the Princess Margaret Hospital.

Maria decided to purchase a three-pack of tickets in support of The Princess Margaret. Her father was treated at the hospital, but lost his battle with cancer last year.

Although still overwhelmed by the news of her win, she feels as though this was a sign from her dad. She explained that her family had a cottage, but it was too much work to maintain, so they sold it. Maria intends to use her prize as a family recreation property in memory of their old cottage and her father.

When asked to describe her thoughts, Maria said “dreams do come true! This lottery is not fixed. It’s not fake. It’s surreal, but it is the real thing. I’m going to buy tickets forever!”

Congratulations Maria! Enjoy your new cottage!
