Audrey Campbell - One of Canada’s leading philanthropists

  Known for her generosity and love of her family, Audrey’s passion will be remembered forever.
 

One of Canada’s leading philanthropists, beloved friend and supporter of the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, has passed away. Known for her generosity and love of her family, Audrey’s passion will forever live on in the work being conducted by the many researchers, scientists, doctors and support staff at The Campbell Family Institute of Breast Cancer Research.

In 2005, Audrey Campbell and her three daughters, donated $25 million to he Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation to further research for breast cancer breakthroughs. At the time, the Campbell family gift was the largest private gift in Canadian history.

Since 2005, The Campbell Family Institute for Breast Cancer Research has doubled in size of staff committed to the fight against cancer. The Institute currently has 11 principal investigators and over 130 staff under the leadership of Dr. Tak Mak, a world-leading scientist renowned for his work in cancer research. The Campbell Family Institute is located at The Princess Margaret Hospital, one of the top 5 comprehensive cancer research hospitals in the world.

Audrey’s spirit of dedication and unselfishness, is a reminder to all of us that one person can change the face of treatment and care in our country. Audrey will be dearly missed by The Foundation and remembered for her friendship and compassion for humanity. To her daughters and family who she loved so much, we hold you in our thoughts and prayers during this time.
