Two of the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation’s greatest supporters, Emmanuelle Gattuso and Allan Slaight, have been awarded the 2012 AFP Greater Toronto Chapter Philanthropy Award for Outstanding Philanthropists.

Emmanuelle Gattuso and Allan Slaight have a long, varied and extremely rich history of giving with many charities in Toronto, most notably The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, The National Ballet of Canada, the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Walrus Foundation. When Emmanuelle was diagnosed with breast cancer, her relationship with the Princess Margaret deepened, as she evolved from donor to patient to champion. In total, the Gattuso-Slaight family donated $20 million for the Gattuso Rapid Diagnostic Centre (GRDC), a gift with an immediate and far-reaching impact on health care delivery and patient care.

The family has demonstrated inspirational leadership and their influence is innovative and inspiring across all charitable sectors in Canada. Active participants in the advancement of social good and welfare to the benefit of the broader community, Emmanuelle Gattuso and Allan Slaight have set historical standards in philanthropy and leadership giving.

Congratulations to Emmanuelle and Allan and heartfelt thanks from everyone at the Foundation, as well as the many Canadians they have helped through their leadership.
