How much of my donation actually goes to benefit research or patient care?
The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation uses every dollar raised as efficiently as possible so that we can achieve our vision: To Conquer Cancer.

What credit cards do you accept for donations?
We accept VISA, MasterCard and American Express. We also accept donations via cheque, cash and securities.
For your convenience, you can also arrange for a monthly donation to be automatically withdrawn from either your chequing account or charged to your credit card. Please contact Karina Wong at (416) 946-4501 ext. 3107 to inquire about or to arrange for a monthly donation.
Can my donation benefit a specific area of the cancer centre?
Yes. You have many designating options. Donations to the Cancer Research Fund will be used directly on the research priorities of the cancer centre. You may also choose to focus your donation on a specific area of interest to you. Examples include: research, patient care and/or education, specific clinics or cancer site-specific research. Another option includes setting up or supporting in honour or in memory accounts.
What is the purpose of the Cancer Research Associate card that is mailed to donors by the Foundation?
The Cancer Research Associate card is our way of acknowledging the commitment of our donors and expressing our appreciation for their support. As a Cancer Research Associate, you will receive the personalized card early in each year.
The card can assist you when making an inquiry to the Foundation, as it cites your donor number on the front of the card. It also provides you with a handy and easily accessible pocket sized calendar, for your reference, on the back of the card.
Will The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation send out cards in honour or in memory of an individual?
Yes. We have many donors who make gifts in honour or in memory of friends and loved ones. When you make such a gift, a card will be sent to the individual that is being honoured or to their designated family member, to acknowledge your generous donation. For your convenience, the form to make memorial / tribute gifts can be accessed by clicking here.
When an ‘in memory’ or ‘in honour’ gift is made, is the amount of the donation disclosed?
No. The Foundation respects the privacy of donors and keeps this information confidential.

How can I get a copy of the Foundation’s audited financial statements?
Our audited financial statements can be found in our online Report to Our Donors 2009. You may pick up a copy at the Foundation Office Located on the 10th floor of the OPG Building, at 700 University Ave.
Who do I contact if I want to run an event on behalf of the Foundation? Our Director of Special Events, Cindy Berk Goelman, will be pleased to speak with you about your idea for a special event. Please email or call us at 416-946-4481.
What percentage of the lottery proceeds go to benefit cancer research?
100% of the net proceeds from the lottery benefit cancer research at Princess Cancer Centre.
How do I contact a specific department at the Foundation?
The “Contact Us” page of this site is organized by departments to assist you in finding the Foundation team you are interested in reaching. You may also call our reception desk at 416-946-6560 (press “1” once the recording starts, to be connected to our receptionist) and we will direct your call to the appropriate person.
