The Princess Margaret Cancer Research Tower officially opened

The Princess Margaret Cancer Research Tower officially opened today--Thursday, June 4.  CP24 came by to help us celebrate the event by taking their viewers on tours of several of the research laboratories where Princess Margaret scientists are harnessing new technology like genetic sequencing and 3D printing to develop more effective cancer therapies and procedures.

The opening of the tower represents the first phase of a major transformation underway for the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.  Many of the laboratories previously located at 610 University Avenue have re-located to the tower with more modern facilities and easier access to high-end scientific resources. Our main centre was built 20 years ago, and is in need of major upgrades that will allow our patients and their families to be more comfortable, find their way easier and have access to services they need while they are spending time at the cancer centre.
