Thomas Family and the Discovery Program
When Nevil Thomas' wife was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma, the couple, along with their daughter Rebecca, felt compelled to give back. It was during his wife's treatment that they came up with the idea of supporting the head and neck department at The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. It started in small increments, but as the treatment intensified, so too did the desire to contribute. The family wanted to support the unique and cohesive team dynamic of the department.
“It was obvious that this was something that needed to grow,” says Rebecca.
Under Nevil’s direction, the Discovery Program was created. The program’s intention is to bring together a team who can provide patients with a full and well-rounded network of support.
