The Princess Margaret’s 2nd Annual SPIN TO CONQUER CANCER

24/02/2017
The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation today announced the 2nd annual SPIN TO CONQUER CANCER event benefitting Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. SPIN participants will head to the Toronto Botanical Garden on March 5th at 9:30 a.m. to take part in this exciting event. Participants spin for one, two or all three hours, in the morning or the afternoon, to raise money for the cancer research that is meaningful to them at The Princess Margaret, one of the top 5 cancer research centres in the world.

PC Blue MenuTM is back as the Hospitality Sponsor, providing a healthy breakfast, lunch and snacks throughout the day. Smoothies, salads and fresh all made with PC Blue MenuTM healthy ingredients are provided for all the participants. Q Water will be supplying water all day. System 4 Productions will offer complimentary photos to all the spin participants.

Lara Brown was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 37. She is one of the top fundraisers for SPIN TO CONQUER CANCER. "I was lucky enough to be treated at Princess Margaret. I had 12 rounds of chemotherapy and 21 days of radiation and everyone there is incredible," says Lara Brown. "We are so lucky to have such a world leading Cancer Centre right here in Toronto."

This year's event will be led by six of Toronto's "best in class" instructors, including Nara Abrams of Coach J Fitness, Marlie Cohen of Spin Co, Sari Grossman of Rocket Cycle, Ali Lubin of Harmony Fitness, Casey Soer of SPYNGA, and Micheline Wedderburn of QUAD Spin. All of the instructors are enthusiastic about promoting health and fitness and are thrilled to combine their passions for a good cause. The funds raised from this event will support discovery research and innovative treatments at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

"Whether you are a beginner working on a New Year's resolution or a hard-core spinner, this is a great opportunity to amplify your own fitness goals while supporting breakthrough cancer research at The Princess Margaret," says Paul Alofs, President and CEO of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
