The Princess Margaret Launches Yoga to Conquer Cancer

26/04/2017

The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation today announced the 1st annual Yoga to Conquer Cancer event benefiting the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Yoga participants will head to Branksome Hall on May 7th at 9:00 am to take part in this exciting event. Everyone at the event will dedicate their practice to raise money for cancer research at one of the top 5 cancer research centres in the world, The Princess Margaret.

Yoga to Conquer Cancer participants are passionate about Conquering Cancer. Jackie Staub is a committee member for this year's Yoga event. Several of her loved ones have been treated at The Princess Margaret. "I have personally seen the impact that the funding has made at the cancer centre. Unfortunately, cancer is not a disease that is decreasing in numbers," says Jackie Staub. "The funding will help the cancer centre advance innovative new therapies and improve the patient experience. We've witnessed how much the centre needs this support and how far the ongoing dollars can go."

This year's event will be led by two of Toronto’s top yoga instructors, Sari Nisker Fox and Julian Brass (Notable.ca). Both instructors are enthusiastic about promoting health and fitness and are thrilled to combine their passion for a good cause. Check out our incredible line up of sponsors for Yoga to Conquer Cancer on our website. We are so thankful for their support and know you will enjoy all they have to offer on May 7th.

"Yoga is a great way to focus on health and personal wellbeing. Dedicating your practice to a loved one is a great way to honour someone who has gone through the cancer journey. An event like this helps to fund world leading research and care at The Princess Margaret,” says Paul Alofs, President and CEO of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
