He's a force to be reckoned with, and if you know Tom Ehrlich you know that's true. We are thankful for all of his hard work during his tenure as chairman of our board of directors at The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. He passed the baton to Glenn Ives, who previously served as vice-chair, at our annual general meeting this past September.

Before his role as chair, Tom helped establish the Invest in Research Program, to raise urgently needed funds for innovative cancer research. The idea came out of a conversation Tom had with Dr. Mary Gospodarowicz, The Princess Margaret's Medical Director, about how he could give back to the place where he was treated for cancer.

What Tom has done for The Princess Margaret is in short, incredible.

He's helped the Cancer Centre expand its research footprint as one of the top five cancer research centres in the world. Conquering cancer in our lifetime is not just a phrase to Tom, it's a personal motto that's driven him to help us reach our goal of raising $1 billion over five years for personalized cancer medicine. We're almost there, thanks in part to Tom's tireless work as an advocate and "uber-participant" at The Princess Margaret.

Outside of his duties as chairman, Tom has been a familiar face at many of our signature events. This includes walking as part of Rexall OneWalk to Conquer Cancer, riding for Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer, participating in Joe's Team Triathlon, as well fundraising, and hitting the links for Golf to Conquer Cancer, presented by Harry Rosen.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Tom.
