The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation is honoured to have been selected as the official charity partner of The Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2016.

The Pageant is in its 22nd year, it provides an opportunity to young Chinese women to compete for a spot in The Miss Chinese International Pageant in China. Many of the Pageant’s previous winners have found success in acting or singing, both in China and here in Canada.

Ahead of the Pageant, the finalists received a tour of the Cancer Centre. The 10 young women had a first-hand look at some of the treatment facilities including the radiation clinic, the wig salon, as well as the research lab of world-renowned senior scientist, Dr. Tak Mak.

This year, the Pageant provided The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation with an opportunity to introduce a brand new audience to the outstanding cancer research and care that takes place at the Cancer Centre. Paul Alofs, President and CEO of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, had a chance to speak with a number of people from the Chinese community, many of whom were not aware that The Princess Margaret is one of the top 5 cancer research centres in the world.
