What payment methods do you accept for donations?
We accept VISA, MasterCard and American Express. We also accept donations via cheque, cash and securities.

I am a US taxpayer, can I get a US tax receipt?
Make a gift now to The American Friends of UHN INC benefiting The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. Donations of $15 or greater will automatically receive an electronic tax receipt.

How do I unsubscribe from your mailing list?
To have your name removed from our mailing list, please email us at list.removal@thepmcf.ca. Please include your first name, last name, address and email address to assist us in expediting your request.
In Honour and In Memory Donations
- Will the Foundation send out cards in honour or in memory of an individual?

When an “In memory” or “ In honour” gift is made, is the amount of the donation disclosed?
No, we respect the privacy of all donors and keep this information confidential.

I need a rush on the delivery of my “In honour” or “In memory” card for a special occasion, is that possible?
We encourage you to send an ecard if the card needs to arrive to the recipient within the week. Unfortunately, we do not have control over Canada Post’s sorting or delivery timelines.
Tax Receipt

When will the tax receipt be issued for my donation?
If you have made your donation online, your tax receipt will be emailed shortly after your donation. If you have mailed in your donation, please allow a couple of weeks for your donation to arrive and be processed. A tax receipt will be mailed shortly after.
Monthly donors are issued one consolidated tax receipt in January for their contributions made in the previous calendar year. -
How can I get a replacement tax receipt for my donation?
To get a replacement tax receipt as quickly as possible, please include the following details:
- First & last name
- Address & postal code
- Date & amount of the donation
- If you donated to an event, please indicate the event name

Is my Lottery ticket purchase tax deductible?
Prizes won in the lottery are not taxable. Therefore, a ticket purchase cannot be used as a tax deduction and we cannot issue tax receipts for ticket purchases.

What is monthly giving?
Monthly giving is the easiest way to make a difference in the lives of those living with cancer. Monthly donations can be automatically withdrawn from your chequing or credit card account to support the research being done at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and develop the next generation of treatment.

Is my Lottery ticket purchase tax deductible?
Prizes won in the lottery are not taxable. Therefore, a ticket purchase cannot be used as a tax deduction and we cannot issue tax receipts for ticket purchases.

What percentage of the lottery proceeds go to benefit cancer research?
100% of the net proceeds from the lottery benefit cancer research and patient care at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
Door-to-Door Fundraising

Is The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation soliciting donations through a Door-to-Door campaign?
No, The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation does not have fundraisers in neighbourhoods going house-to-house to solicit donations. People are encouraged to contact local police or The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre if they are approached by someone at their door claiming to be from The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
